Hailing from sunny Newport Beach, California, American emo/hardcore heroes Saosin treated their fans in KL to a blood pumping show. The band has been making some rounds in the extreme music circles, rising to prominence with high-profile tours with mega bands such as Linkin Park to more niche and critically acclaimed hardcore bands such as Underoath. With such a resume up their tattooed arms, the band has honed their live repertoire with some of the best in the business, so expect an airtight display of metal chops and uplifting melodies.
The tour in this region is in support of their latest album, ‘In Search of Solid Ground’. It’s their sophomore effort and already some people are hailing it as one of the best of the genre, and certainly one of the finest this year. This, despite the band enduring a huge change in personnel when original singer Anthony Green quit in 2004, before the release of their self-titled debut. But replacement singer Cover Reber has taken over with gusto and with two LPs under his belt, the singer has made that position very much his own. With ample support from local veteran post/hardcore heroes Love Me Butch, this concert was a hardcore treat from start until the end.
